Bookham branch manager gets on his bike for charity
The Branch Manager at our Great Bookham branch, Chris Vernon, is swapping his hard hat for a helmet and taking part in Allergy UK's 100k Nightrider cycle.
The challenge takes place in London overnight between Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June. The circular route will take Chris and the other riders passed famous sites such as Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, the Emirates Stadium and the London Eye.
As a keen cyclist, Chris regularly cycles from his home in Hersham to the Chandlers branch on Leatherhead Road and has previously completed the London to Brighton cycle challenge for the British Heart Foundation.
Chris said, "A friend of mine has two daughters who suffer from allergies on a daily basis, so I was keen to join him on the ride to raise money for a fantastic charity; we're both training hard at the moment. I'm aiming to raise £1,500 and am very close to reaching that target. I would like to thank Chandlers, and all the customers, for their support and donations so far; it's very much appreciated."
Allergy UK is the leading national charity providing advice, information and support to the estimated 21 million people that suffer from allergies and food intolerances in the UK.
Those that would like to support Chris can do so by making a donation via his Just Giving page - www.justgiving.com/Chris-Vernon5.
