Chandlers employee undertakes personal challenge for colleague
On Saturday 13th July, Chandlers Building Supplies employee, Lee Blythe, will be taking part in the Harbour Wallbanger, to raise money for the Chandlers £50k Challenge.
The Chandlers £50k Challenge is in honour of Chandlers employee Rob Sadler, a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer himself, who will be having a double celebration during 2013, marking not only 30 years of Chandlers employment, but more significantly his 50th birthday. Those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.
The Harbour Wallbanger is a 7km run along the beach, from Broadstairs Harbour to the wall at Ramsgate and back again.
John Rose, Thanet Branch Manager, commented: "I think it's absolutely fantastic that Lee is undertaking this personal challenge in order to help us reach the £50k target. On behalf of everyone at Chandlers, I would like to wish Lee the best of luck."
Lee Blythe commented: "I wanted to do something to raise money for this extremely worthwhile cause and this annual event seemed like the perfect opportunity. The training is well underway and I am looking forward to the main event. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far."
