Support for colleague raises over £1,000 for charity

A team made up of staff and customers from Chandlers took part in the Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 22nd March raising a fantastic £1,200 for Ehlers-Danlos Support UK.

The charity is of particular importance to the team of runners as the wife of Paul Hunnisett, Bathroom Contracts Manager at our Lewes branch and one of the runners, has recently been diagnosed with the condition.

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a genetic disorder in which the structure of connective tissue is abnormal, which can result in discomfort in joints, heart palpitations, fragile skin, easy bruising, nausea and dizzy spells,

Paul Hunnisett, commented, "Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is not a commonly known condition, but it causes sufferers immense discomfort.  The charity relies on donations, so I would like to say a big thank you to my colleagues for joining me on the run and to everyone who made a donation, especially Chandlers who contributed £500, it's greatly appreciated."

The Chandlers Hastings Half Marathon team consisted of Paul Hunnisett; Chandlers Lewes Branch Manager, Stuart Campbell; colleagues Graham Wills, Gary Brinkhurst and Simon Hind and Chandlers' regular customer Jesse Roberts.
