Head of Sustainability contributes to new water efficient report
Phil Barnard, our Head of Sustainability, was delighted to have been involved with the recent 'Water Efficient House of the Future' report that was published by the UK Water Research and Innovation Partnership (UKWRIP) and Waterwise, who have become the leading authority on water efficiency in the UK.
The report comes from a workshop held to discuss the barriers that stop homeowners and house builders using water efficient products and the solutions needed to encourage people to use the products that are already available.
It discusses solutions, which include help with the financial aspect, incentives needed to encourage developers to choose water efficient products and the need to ensure people have an understanding of what's available.
Phil was part of the UKWRIP workshop and the discussions that form the basis of the report. He commented:
"There are a number of products already on the market that can help with water efficiency. The workshop, and subsequent report, are therefore vitally important to garner solutions to encourage people to use these products so they become the norm. I was delighted to be involved and work with some of the leading voices in the industry to discuss ways that water efficient products can become more widely used."
