Petworth students raise £277 for our Cystic Fibrosis Appeal
Students from Petworth Primary School raised a fantastic £277 for our Chandlers Chandlers £50k Challenge appeal on Friday 20th June by taking part in a special sponsored sporting event.
Students from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 spent three weeks designing the event, which included an indoor caving challenge, race around the field and child led multi skills activities, and asked for sponsorship to take part.
The Chandlers £50k Challenge launched last year and is aiming to raise £50,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in honour of Chandlers' employee, Rob Sadler, a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer himself.
Rob not only celebrated 30 years of Chandlers' employment last year, but more significantly celebrated his 50th birthday in December; those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.
Laura Sandon-Webb, Deputy Headteacher at Petworth Primary School, said, "The children did a fantastic job in supporting such a worthy cause. They thoroughly enjoyed designing the event themselves and we are delighted to have been able to raise money for such an important charity."
