Ladies lead the way
Two members of staff at Chandlers Building Supplies have been presented with top awards at our annual conference.
The Best New Starter Award was presented to Lorna Anderson, 19, from our Lewes branch and The Outstanding Contribution Award was presented to Lavina Appasamy, marketing assistant at head office in RIngmer.
Lorna joined the tight knit team at the Lewes branch as a replacement for one of the longest serving members of the team who was retiring. Stuart Campbell, manger at Lewes said: "These were big boots to fill and one she slipped into with ease and determination. Lorna immediately engaged with both staff and customers and consistently shows a great willingness to tackle any task while delivering strong results for the team. She is always keen to learn and has a shining positive attitude. In a short space of time Lorna has made a real difference to the Lewes branch and has quickly become a valuable member of the team."
Lavina was nominated for her exceptional positive can-do attitude and demeanor - irrespective of what's on her plate. Sue Mc Kinney, marketing manager, said: "Lavina can be relied upon to help whatever the situation and her kindness often leads her to go above and beyond to help out colleagues. Last minute requests (a frequent occurrence) are taken in her stride and she will always do her best to deliver - exceeding normal expectation. Her on-going input continues to deliver an invaluable contribution to the business generally."
Andrew Cope, MD, Chandlers Building Supplies, said: "Both team members have demonstrated all the key attributes required to win these awards. These include contributions that exceed expectation, willingness and ability to deliver strong results and strong team players. Congratulations to Lavina and Lorna - we are delighted to have you as part of the Chandlers Buildings Supplies family."
