Toilet seat art exhibition now on to raise money for Headway East Sussex
Our novel toilet seat art exhibition is now live at our Bathroom Showroom in Lewes. Last month we called for local artists to take part in our project to raise funds for Headway East Sussex. Each artist was sent a toilet seat to decorate with their own creative with the finished works to be auctioned for acquired brain injury charity, Headway East Sussex.
22 unique toilet seats are now proudly being displayed in our Bathroom Showroom. Artists include well know Sussex painter Mark Glassman as well as Nadia Chalk, co-director of Creative Waves Community. Local MP Maria Caulfield has also taken part in the project having chosen to turn her toilet seat into the Parliamentary Seat of Lewes by creating a collage, using images from the constituency, Westminster and of her fellow politicians.
Other artists include 3 members of the Chandlers team; 2 who are drivers for our Lewes branch and the third works in our Product Management team at our Head Office in Ringmer. Headway East Sussex also took a toilet seat which was decorated in an art session with their clients.
Simon Hind, of Chandlers Bathroom Showroom, Lewes, said: "As a local family owned showroom we genuinely care about our local community and charities in Sussex. This novel art exhibition is a great way to raise money and profile for a fantastic local charity."
The chosen charity Headway East Sussex offers rehabilitation and support services for people with acquired brain injuries, their families and carers.
Wendy Pengelly, deputy chief executive, Headway East Sussex said "We are thrilled that Chandlers Bathroom Showroom has chosen us as the charity to benefit from this unique event. This is the first time we have seen an initiative of this kind – it's very unique and we can't wait to see the final works of art."
