We've reached £28,000
We would like to thank everyone that has helped us to reach the £28,000 mark in our Chandlers £50k Challenge charity appeal.
Having launched in 2013 the Chandlers £50k Challenge is aiming to raise £50,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in honour of our employee Rob Sadler, a Cystic Fibrosis Sufferer himself. Rob not only celebrated 30 years of Chandlers' employment last year, but more significantly, he turned 50 in December; those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.
Our staff, customers and communities local to our branches have all supported the campaign and have taken part in many fundraising events from sponsored runs, football matches and charity golf days to barn dances, silent auctions and cricket matches.
Rob Sadler said, "The support has been fantastic and we are delighted to have reached £28,000. However, it is not too late to get involved. So if a company, school or college would like to put on their own fundraising event for the appeal, or they are able to donate a prize to a silent auction, we would love to hear from them."
Richard Skinner, Commercial Director at Chandlers, commented, "A big thank you to everyone who has made a contribution to any of the fundraising activities that have taken place so far. Although we are focusing on raising money with our colleague Rob in mind, Cystic Fibrosis is a condition that affects the lives of families across the country, so any money raised goes to a great cause."
